ABOUT OUR RIDES

We’ve got rides suitable for people of all walks of life and all fitness levels. We’ve got beginner rides, social rides, a summer TT series, fast training rides and more. Club rides are posted on the Skipton Cycling Club facebook group and the Ride list. If you’re an SCC facebook group member, you’ll get an invite for every ride we run. Ride details will usually include a route, an average pace and details of the ride structure.

New to cycling or just getting back into it? Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to be an expert on your first ride; there is plenty of time for you to pick things up as you go along.

We don’t run a sweeper or regroup at every junction, but we do aim to keep everyone together and not to drop anyone (with the exeption of Wednesday Traning rides). If you’re falling off the back or struggling, shout up (“easy” or “ease up” usually does it) and the group will slow down (or regroup shortly). On longer climbs (e.g. Fleet Moss, Cove Road) it’s usual for the group to split up a bit, so we regroup at the tops, or shortly after if it’s raining and blowing a gale.

Not sure which ride is for you? check out one of our brilliant Saturday rides first.
Looking for a sociable Sunday riding group for older members? Try out the G3A – Third Age Cycling Group

The G3A – Third Age Cycling Group is a slightly different format to the other club runs. Meet at the Lunch Venue (Target Time 12.00 hrs). This caters for those who are not Skipton based. We then ride as a group to the Tea Venue before dispersing for the ride home. The runs list can be found at: www.camino-norte.co.uk/pages/g3a.htm

Non members are welcome to join the rides for a maximum of three times, after that, you are required to join the club for British Cycling insurance requirements.
